The ATR 42-600 puts on a show at Air Expo

On May 11, our ATR 42-600 prototype, MSN 811, made a notable appearance at Air Expo. The airshow was held at the Muret-Lherm airfield near Toulouse, in the south of France, and ATR is a proud partner. A crew from the ATR Flight test team performed in front of a crowd of aviation enthusiasts.

This year, the ATR had the opportunity to fly just before the French Air Force’s Air Acrobatics Display team, the Patrouille de France, thereby ensuring excellent exposure during its eight minutes of flight. Our crew were able to demonstrate all the great qualities of our aircraft, by varying speeds, angles, and performing exceptional manoeuvres, our pilots showcased the excellent handling qualities of the ATR. Our test pilots even performed an impressive engine-out simulation manoeuvre. This is something they are perfectly trained to do, but it always causes quite the stir.

Organised by students from ENAC and ISAE-Supaero, two prestigious universities in Toulouse specialising in aerospace applications, Air Expo is a great opportunity to see our aircraft fly, just a short distance from our assembly lines. This event is sure to capture the imagination of both the young and old. It offers a chance to share our passion for this fine aircraft with friends and family, a plane that connects communities around the world responsibly and sustainably.
